V Rojanavongse is a NCCAOM certified Diplomate in acupuncture and licensed acupuncturist in the state of New York. He graduated with honors from Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA), one of the oldest schools of acupuncture in the United States. At TSCA, he studied with some of the finest master practitioners involved with influencing the development of acupuncture in America including Kiiko Matsumoto and Mark Seem. He currently continues to apprentice with Kiiko Matsumoto at her private practice in Massachusetts and is an assistant instructor in teaching Kiiko style acupuncture at the Thousand Hands Institute. In addition, he is also a clinical supervisor and faculty member at TSCA and is an adjunct lecturer at LaGaurdia Community College (CUNY) in Human Anatomy & Physiology. He has also received specialized certification in the treatment of substance abuse from the Lincoln hospital detoxification training clinic in the Bronx. As a martial artist, he has been training in Aikido for over 20 years with Yoshimitsu Yamada sensei and the late Seiichi Sugano sensei at the New York Aikikai. Both of these masters are direct students from the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba. Currently, V is an instructor at the NY Aikikai. With his training and expertise, V specializes in Japanese (Kiiko style) acupuncture which is a unique system based on the palpation of reflexes that both diagnoses and treats the person’s chief complaint. Other styles and techniques of acupuncture that may also be utilized include classical Chinese acupuncture, moxabustion, gua sha, cupping, trigger point release, tuina and herbal formulas. These different approaches offer individualized treatments tailored to each patient’s specific needs. |
